  1. why is openning even now witht he latest version,3 times the openscad window and is not generating nothing in it? can be a SPLINE,LOFT command be created in the next version?-- One thing this proposal is missing to be a proper "loft" is the ability to skin a series of differently shaped (but having consistent numbers of vertices) paths. for instance, lofting a 10 vertex circle to a 10 vertex star to a 10 vertex square. this would allow the creation of some very advanced shapes that translation, scaling, and rotation cannot express. Currently the only way to approximate these sorts of shapes is to chain hull (and that only works for convex shapes), but since you have to have a 3d shape (linear_extrude to a very small height) to do the hull, you can't avoid very ugly output with lots of degenerate triangles. This would be a huge game changer for me in terms of the designs I'm trying to accomplish.

  4. Hi. I just downloaded the latest version (10) after a new ubuntu installation.
    Graphscad works great but doesn't open anymore Openscad automatically, as it was in the past.
    Did I miss something?
    Thanks for your support.

  6. Just downloaded this, and can't make it work with Openscad using Linuxmint. V1.1.10

    1. Created an object: empty box.
    2. Nothing appears in Openscad with or without Auto Refresh.
    3. Saved Graphscad file, but .gscad/.scad not appended to filename.
    4. Manually added .gscad and .scad to filename.
    5. The Openscad code is not included in the Saved file, so no object displayed.

  7. Did some more digging.

    1. Open Graphscad.
    2. Create Object.
    3. Open Openscad using icon in menu bar.
    4. To view object in Openscad, click on Openscad window.
    5. User has to select Reload (CTRL+R) and then F5.
    6. Openscad render will then update.

  8. Thanks for the tool!
    For anyone trying Debian ( not Ubu ), the following may be of interest...
    I just installed OpenSCad , checked it ran ok.
    Then I installed GraphSCad Ubuntu 64 v 1.0.10 and it opens examples ok.
    This is on a Debian system
    uname -a reports
    Linux jessie 3.16.0-9-rtai-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 3.16.7-6linuxcnc (2015-11-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux
    I will use it with Linuxcnc on a Sable2015 mini-mill.
    Thanks again, TomP

  9. Recently discovered this tool and have been learning about it, mostly through trial and error. I'm using this on Windows,so there are some changes to the 'node' functionally I've made. For me personally, using this tool allows me to concentrate more on the design I'm working on, rather than the OpenSCAD syntax. As a result I spend less time designing, and more time 3D printing my design. Making changes is also faster. All in all, a very useful tool addition. Thank you for your effort.

  10. Hello, I too have just discovered graphscad. I am running Linux mint 19.1 and have the latest openscad installed and operational along with the latest graphscad operational. They both work independently but not together. The openscad icon in graphscad produces no result with openscad. Apparently graphscad can't link to openscad. Have reinstalled both several times but no joy. Is it possible that this is a permission or directory problem. I have certinaly missed something along the way. Would very much appreciate any words of wisdom on this issue. Many Thanks!!

    1. Although I am using Windows, I believe both platforms work the same way. If you look in the Graphscad directory you will see an Openscad executable (you may have to 'chmod +x'). That is the one Graphscad uses, so you need to have the Graphscad installation directory in your path. When I start Graphscad (Windows), it opens an instance of Openscad (the one in it's installation directory). The normal Openscad isn't used, although the libraries can be used. Check which version of Openscad is open when using Graphscad, it should be 2017.01.20. Hope this helps.

    2. Hello. Thank you for the reply. I'm gonna jump at this again tonight. Verifying the directory path is one thing I don't remember doing. I bet that's it. Thank for you kind help.

  11. Has anyone noticed the "declaremodule" node doesn't work right? To see what's happening, Create a new file, insert a declaremodule node, then write the code out and look at the written code in OpenSCAD. The following is what I'm getting:
    module mymodule()
    {
    }
    mymodule();
    That last line shouldn't be there, it will cause the module to always be executed, which is not the desired behavior, or what OpenSCAD does. Unfortunately, that last line isn't part of the 'source code' provided, so it can't be corrected.

    In the OpenSCAD window, "Design" menu, make sure "Automatic Reload and Preview" is checked.

    Anyone else having a problem getting a module2d to get created? I have a node "square" as input to "declaremodule2d", but after updating OpenSCAD, there is no module call, and no reference to "square".
    Anyone??

  17. Is this project dead? I enjoy using this tool and have written many nodes to make my projects easier to design. Would like to see this continue.

  18. Is this an open source project? The repository being linked to on website is

    https://github.com/graphscad/graphscad

    but the last commit is 2017, and the master branch doesn't seem to contain most of the app logic.

    1. It seems to have been abandoned, too bad, I really enjoy using it. The app logic was never open source (he did say he might), however, all the source code for each 'node' is with the project (python). I have created many new nodes and customized some of the provided nodes for my taste.
